To Hide or not to hide

(SP)

(ENG)

We've always pursued hide worlds, it's part of our identity, to walk on reflected paths, falsely projected or in shadow.

The path slightly intuited, insinuated into the mark of a drawing or on the back of a page, but also into the rib of a leaf, in the paths that shows the stamens of a flower or in the folding shape of the pod fruit.
Let us broaden the view on nature or rather we will become insects to walk on it. We will observe in it geometric forms, perfectly aligned, repetitions of the same unity; points, lines, triangles, hexagons ... And from this minimal expression, this will be our track or trail that will discover us the path we will walk on.

This is the seed or germ of our workshop "Hidden Worlds". This minimal unit will sprout and it will convert into a volume and unfold like the petals of a flower, the branches of a tree, or the moss path, ... As part of the observation process, we will first draw it, stamp it and later represent it in volume (cutting out its shape with paper, cardboard and other materials, experimenting with the positive and negative of the shape, with the difference of size, we will do paper foldings, assembling structures, mobile, etc ...) In this way we will get a global vision and  knowledge on this form.

Is the time to experiment with the way of seeing, observing from different points of view and playing with meaning, transforming an image into another totally different. In this way this minimum unit or sign takes the symbol value. And we can establish rules for its use, so we are creating a code or alphabet in which establish a relationship between others, then will appear the language. At this point it's as if we have the elements of a musical composition and also the support or score. Now is the time to play with these elements to create an harmonic speech o storytelling. As a result we will not get a single composition but rather rules for the use of these elements.

And this is the thread on which we have woven our workshop "Hidden Worlds", a great ball of yarn of which will be unfolding different games with which to weave different compositions or projects. It is not about gathering, but about sowing, hiding rather than finding.

During this workshop, it has been very important to leave behind prejudices, especially formal ones, not to choose the easy path, to be guided by intuition and to explore other ways. And we have met a group of true explorers (Stefania Tonello, Laura Zanetti, Giullia Genovesi, Sandro Volpi, Enea Brigatti, Chiara Grandessi), with them this Workshop has become into a polyhedral game, a back and forth trip.
This would not have been possible without the space (il Masetto), the time (5 days) the environment (the Terragnolo
valley) the trip preparations (excellent foods of Gianni Mittempergher, materials, guides and wonderful books selected by Giulia Mirandola) and these magnificent fellow travelers.

Hidden Worlds, more than a Workshop has been a ludic itinerary, held in Il Masetto (Rovereto, Italy) from August 8 to 12, 2017 thanks to the support of Acción Cultural Española. A magnificent Experience !!
